Business Advocates Sue To Stop ‘Millionaires Tax’ Ballot Question

The lawsuit asks the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court to find that a proposal to tack an income tax surtax on people making $1,000,000 or more per year violates the state constitution. If the referendum goes forward, it will appear on the state general election ballot in November 2018.

Say Goodnight To Confederate Prisoners’ Memorial on Georges Island

State officials say they're going to remove the lone Confederate memorial in Massachusetts after Columbus Day weekend and put it temporarily in the Massachusetts State Archives. The stone has the names of Confederate prisoners of war who died at Fort Warren on Georges Island in Boston Harbor during the Civil War.
