The Massachusetts Senate went on record again Thursday in favor of a statewide ban on single-use plastic bags with sponsors pointing to the harm such bags have done to whales, but then rejected a proposal whose sponsor said was intended to reduce the risk of sea mammal entanglement.
Three men who police say filmed a goat getting marijuana smoke blown into his face are facing charges of animal cruelty.
The men, ages 20, 18, and 21, posted a video online showing them leading the goat from a pen into a house in Taunton. Inside, one of them sat on top of the goat, one of them blew marijuana smoke in the goat's face, and the third filmed it, police said.
