State replacing faulty nuts in Big Dig tunnel system

BOSTON — Highway officials have found a widespread problem of cracked construction nuts within the Big Dig tunnel system, leading workers to inspect more than 100,000 nuts, Highway Administrator Tom Tinlin disclosed Wednesday.

Hundreds of deficient nuts have been identified through the system, though officials said there are no safety concerns.

STATE HOUSE — The free unregulated ride for the burgeoning daily online fantasy sports industry in Massachusetts appears to be coming to an end.

Along with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission's announcement that it plans to discuss daily fantasy sports at a public meeting next week, Beacon Hill leaders seemed to signal that the question is no longer if the state will impose regulations, but rather what form those regulations will take.
