Massachusetts Surpasses 1 Million Confirmed Coronavirus Cases

There have been more than one million confirmed coronavirus cases in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts since the pandemic began — and an unknown number of total cases that's presumably higher than that.

On Tuesday, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced there were 9,228 new confirmed coronavirus infections that day. It put the state's confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic at 1,002,226, as State House News Service points out. So far, there have been 19,692 confirmed coronavirus deaths in the Commonwealth and 446 probable deaths.
