On heels of tuition hike, Meehan agrees to pay faculty pay raises

BOSTON — Confident that the Legislature's forthcoming supplemental budget will include additional money for the university, University of Massachusetts President Martin Meehan on Wednesday reaffirmed his commitment to pay $10.9 million in retroactive pay denied to faculty and staff by his predecessor.

The supreme leader of the world's foremost state sponsor of terrorism took to Twitter on Wednesday to claim that Israel will cease to exist within 25 years, a statement delivered just ahead of a landmark Congressional vote on whether to ratify President Obama's nuclear pact with Iran.

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatolla Ali Khamenei posted the series of tweets on both his English and Spanish language Twitter accounts.
