No More Life Sentences, Some Massachusetts Legislators Say

Now that the landmark 2018 criminal justice reform law is on the books, lawmakers are exploring additional ideas and "even harder work," as state Senator Jamie Eldridge (D-Acton) put it Thursday, including the possibility of releasing prisoners serving life-without-parole sentences for the most serious crimes, including murder.

Transgender First-Place Finisher of Connecticut Girls Track Event Would Have Finished 120th Among Boys

A biological male who identifies as a female ran the fastest time in the 55-meter dash among competitors defined as girls in Connecticut – but the transgender track athlete would have finished 120th among boys, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation, which compared results among boys and girls.

The fastest time on the girls side was 6.95 seconds. The second fastest time among competitors defined as girls, 7.01 seconds, was also run by a transgender biological male – and would have been good for 195th among boys, according to The Daily Caller News Foundation.
