Nine State Troopers Suspended, Another Nine Abruptly Retire

Nine state troopers have been suspended without pay in connection with the phantom shift scandal, while another nine retired immediately rather than go through a disciplinary hearing, State Police said.

In all, at least 21 state police officers have been found to have been paid overtimes for shifts on the Massachusetts Turnpike in 2016 they didn't work.
