Gov. Maura Healey and Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll are officially on board for Question 7, the ballot proposal that would allow single-family homes to be built on smaller lots – those that are at least 5,000 square feet with at least 50 feet of street frontage, and that have access to public sewer and water services.
The measure would "help move that work forward and make the dream of owning a home a reality for more residents," Healey said in a statement. "By opening doors to first-time homeowners, we’ll help more young people afford to stay in Massachusetts and build their future here.”
The MassGOP is advising Bay Staters to vote "no" on Question 7, while members of the Democratic State Committee voted to support the measure.
