Nearly 3,000 Parents Opt Out of New Graphic Sex Ed Curriculum Implemented By Worcester Public Schools
Tom JoyceNearly 3,000 parents have opted out the new sex education curriculum in the Worcester Public Schools, the superintendent told a local newspaper.
The city's school committee voted 5-2 last May to implement a curriculum called Rights, Respect, Responsibility, a sex education program produced by Advocates for Youth. It sparked backlash from many parents in the city including Shanel Soucy, now a School Committee candidate in the city.
