Massachusetts Department of Revenue commissioner Geoffrey Snyder has announced that state government revenue collections for October 2023 totaled $2.558 billion, which is $196 million (or 8.3 percent) more than actual collections in October 2022.
However, the October 2023 figure is $186 million (or 6.8 percent) below the the state's benchmark.
Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth William F. Galvin wants voters who have not returned their mail-in ballots for next Tuesday's elections to return those ballots by hand, if possible.
Galvin said mailing ballots this late is too risky, in a press release issued by his office. He noted that mail can take up to seven days to be delivered.
