Should Massachusetts ban high schools and colleges from using American Indian mascots and team names?
It is an issue that divides the Commonwealth, according to a UMass Amherst/WCVB poll released last week. It found that Bay State residents were effectively split on the issue — 40 percent said they would support such a law, while 38 percent opposed it; 23 percent said they would neither support nor oppose the idea. The poll had a 4.7 percent margin of error.
