In a donated dress, girl dubbed Baby Doe is buried

WINTHROP, Mass. (AP) — The 2-year-old girl known for months as Baby Doe after her remains were found in a plastic bag on a Boston Harbor beach was buried Saturday in a donated dress with a donated quilt.

Bella Bond was laid to rest in Winthrop near her paternal great-grandmother after a private funeral. The girl's biological father, Joseph Amoroso, who never met her, kissed his hand and placed it on the coffin during the graveside service, The Boston Globe reported.

One of Beacon Hill's top Democrats rained praise on Republican Gov. Charlie Baker over the weekend, and offered a contrast between Baker and his predecessor, Democrat Deval Patrick.

"I like working with Governor Baker," Senate President Stanley Rosenberg told WBZ political analyst Jon Keller in an interview televised Sunday morning. "He's a hands-on guy. He's strong on management and that's a lot of the problems that we've been dealing with in this first year of his governorship and my first year as Senate president."
