Family Event At Public Park Had One Rule:  No Cell Phones

A pool, a playground, and miniature golf were among the attractions at a community family event in Charlestown recently – but no cell phones.

Family Day is the brainchild of the head of the Charlestown community center of Boston Centers for Youth and Families (a city agency) and the pastor of Christ Church Charlestown, a biblically based Protestant church that uses a public school in Charlestown for worship services. The two got together over breakfast and organized the event for the first time last year, according to The Charlestown Patriot-Bridge.
