Faith leaders outline energy reform goals

STATE HOUSE — Religious leaders and members of faith communities from across Massachusetts rallied at the State House on Tuesday, urging lawmakers to take action on energy reforms that would emphasize clean, renewable power and benefit vulnerable communities.

With the House poised to take up solar power legislation before formal sessions end for the year next week, members of the Massachusetts Interfaith Coalition for Climate Action called for a move away from fossil fuels.

Chilean abortion plan is ‘a trap for the gullible,’ cardinal says

Santiago, Chile (CNA/EWTN News) — Cardinal Gerhard Mueller, prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, firmly rejected a proposal to legalize abortion in Chile, calling it "a trap for the gullible."

The cardinal was in Chile from Nov. 6-10 to participate in two official conferences on the challenges of the family and the role of Catholic universities. He was invited by the Pontifical Catholic University.
