World War II KIA Buried In Hometown — 75 Years Later

David Quinn of Temple, New Hampshire was killed in action during a battle on an island in the Pacific in 1943.

He was buried there, but his family was told he was lost at sea. An inquisitive nephew he never met followed a lead from a letter written by one of Quinn's friends to Quinn's widow after the battle, and eventually the U.S. Department of Defense found Quinn's remains and identified them through DNA.

Blood Discussion in Biology Class Leads Three Students To Faint

Students in a biology class in Tyngsboro were talking about their fears about blood when three of them fainted, police and firefighters said.

Greater Lowell Technical High School was evacuated Friday after the incident and two of the students were taken to a hospital, but authorities determined the students had no physical injuries and that no environmental factors contributed to the fainting spells, according to The Lowell Sun.
