A woman fended off a 35-year-old knife-wielding man who invaded her home by hitting him in the face with a letter opener, police said.
The man broke into the home in Sunderland, about 25 miles north of Springfield, Massachusetts, shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday while the woman and her son were inside, police said, according to MassLive.com.
