Winner of Boston Mayoral Race Will Take Office In November

That will happen two weeks later, according to The Dorchester Reporter. The transition of mayoral power from acting Mayor Kim Janey to the winner of the election will take place on November 16. Janey, who is the city council president, has served as the city's acting mayor since March 24.
