Two years ago, the town of Wellesley approved by a narrow margin a proposal to call Columbus Day "Indigenous Peoples Day." And, unfortunately, this woke move is being repeated throughout the Commonwealth and the nation.
Wellesley is one of the wealthiest towns in America, as measured by average household income income. So why would progressives and liberals want to attack and denigrate the civilization that has given them such an enviable lifestyle and so many benefits?
Responding to complaints from state and local officials about the recent influx of migrants, U.S Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Newton) said he is encouraging the Biden administration to send an "assessment team" to Massachusetts to see the effects migrants are having.
"I share your deep frustration with our nation's broken immigration system and its impact on our constituents," Auchincloss wrote in a letter to local officials used in a press release issued by his office Friday, October 6. "I will continue to connect state and local officials and migrants arriving in Massachusetts' Fourth District with the federal resources that are currently available and encourage the Biden administration to send an assessment team to Boston to see first-hand the challenges we are facing."
