Almost three-quarters of the Massachusetts Senate voted conservative less than 10 percent of the time in 2017, forming a "Coalition of the Radical Left," according to the American Conservative Union.
The conservative lobbying organization, based in Alexandria, Virginia, rates federal and state lawmakers according to conservative principles on liberty, taxes, spending, life, privacy, health care, and education, among other things.
The company that owns the company that owns four daily newspapers and four weekly newspapers north of Boston is looking to sell them, according to the Lawrence Eagle-Tribune, one of the newspapers involved.
CNHI, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, currently owns North of Boston Media Group, which operates the Eagle-Tribune, the Salem News, the Gloucester Daily Times, and the Daily News of Newburyport, all daily newspapers. The company also operates four weeklies: The Andover Townsman and The Haverhill Gazette in Massachusetts; and The Derry News in New Hampshire and The Carriage Towne News, a regional weekly that covers several towns in southeastern New Hampshire.
