White Women’s Cooking ‘Flavorless,’ Latino Student’s Says in School Assembly Poem

The student recited a poem at a school assembly during a Latino Heritage Month event at Holyoke High School that led some white students to leave the auditorium. Later, a list of the students who left was circulated, but school officials say it wasn't meant to lead to violence.

Patriots Receiver’s Children’s Book Makes Reading List in Framingham School

Lauren Baker, the wife of Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, planned to read The Magician's Hat by New England Patriots wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell at an elementary school in Framingham. Mitchell could only read at a junior high level when he entered college, but he eventually took so much to reading that he joined a women's book club.
