What Led To Archbishop Vigano Letter Against Pope Francis — But Still No Answers To Major Charges

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano consulted with an anti-Pope Francis blogger in Italy twice before publishing his now-famous 11-page letter accusing the pope of knowing about former Cardinal Theodore McCormick's sexual abuse of young men several years ago.

Vigano, a former high-ranking Vatican diplomat, timed the simultaneous publication in several languages for the middle of Pope Francis's trip to Ireland last weekend partly because of the prominent coverage of the Pennsylvania grand jury report on sexual abuse by priests there and partly to give the pope a chance to respond during the flight back to Rome this past Sunday night, according to a Catholic News Service story.

Homosexuality and transgenderism were flashpoints in a debate Tuesday night between a liberal Democrat trying to unseat a moderate veteran state representative in northern Massachusetts.

State Representative Colleen Garry (D-Dracut) criticized challenger Sabrina Heiser, a member of the Dracut School Committee, for drawing the vast majority of her campaign funds from outside the district, which she charged comes from rich people trying to buy the seat to further their left-wing agenda.
