Pressley's immediate reaction was to laugh – no doubt realizing that what the governor said was true. So did other members of the panel.
Paid family leave and an increased payroll tax are one step closer to reality in Vermont.
The Vermont Senate recently voted 20-9 on a piece of legislation (H.107) that would provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave for the birth of a child or the adoption of one, according to the Associated Press. The bill would be funded with a 0.2% payroll tax increase on most of the state's workers.
