Walsh St. Pat’s video plays off Baker ‘bromance’

BOSTON – Despite their political differences, Republican Gov. Charlie Baker and Boston Mayor Marty Walsh have worked closely together on a number of successful projects, such as convincing industrial giant General Electric to relocate to the city. But they've also been teased about their camaraderie – to the point of media references to a "bromance" between them.

Picking up on that theme, Kris Carter, the co-chair of the mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics and the creator of dozens of videos for the city's YouTube.com channel, produced one that spoofs the two leaders' delicate but friendly relationship, transforming British artist Adele's song "Hello" to "Hello Gov, it's Marty." He apparently had the mayor's full cooperation in making the video, which was shown during the South Boston St. Patrick's Day Breakfast at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center Sunday.

"A better use of taxpayer dollars would be to investigate the people we actually exposed on video instead of the journalists who uncovered the truth about how easy it is to break election laws," O'Keefe, whose Project Veritas specializes in impersonation and hidden-camera reporting, said in a statement.
