Walsh Signs Ordinance Banning Thin-Film Plastic Bags

Boston's mayor said he was troubled but the cost that customers at supermarkets and drug stores would have to pay for so-called reusable plastic bags if they want them. But he ended up signing the ordinance anyway, which previously passed the Boston City Council 12-0; supporters say it will help the environment.
