This year, Vermont set a record — in maple syrup production.
The state's maple syrup companies produced 2.2 million gallons of it during the season this year — more than half of the country's total. This also broke the record they set last year: 2.07 million gallons.
Vermont bakers geared up during the past few days for what they are calling the Bakers Against Racism Bake Sale.
According to Seven Days, the event "is raising money for organizations working to end systemic and structural racism." The bake sale Saturday, June 20 offered an array of baked goods and pastries for customers to purchase.
