Robert DeLeo (D-Winthrop) resigned from the State House and his post as Massachusetts House Speaker on Tuesday night, and received a positive response from his colleagues.
DeLeo, who held votes to pass an abortion expansion bill and override Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker on it, reportedly received a warm response from his colleagues on his final day in office. That includes a positive response from state Representative Donald Wong (R-Saugus), who gave him a cigar, as Mike Deehan of GBH News reports.
