The Springfield, Massachusetts native and former sheriff in Phoenix, Arizona spoke at the pro-gun-rights rally at a rod-and-gun club in Belchertown, while protesters gathered on the town common several miles away. Armed citizens could have stopped mass shooters early in their massacres, Arpaio said, while a rally organizer said that the Second Amendment was approved in order to provide citizens with the ability to kill tyrants.
