Tributes Pour In for Don Baylor, ’86 Red Sox Hero

Don Baylor, 68, died Monday, August 7 of multiple myeloma. He was a leader of the Boston Red Sox team that won the American League pennant in 1986 in unlikely fashion; during the season he ran a kangaroo court demanding fines for players who made mental errors, and in the crucial Game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the California Angels he hit a two-run home run late that made the astounding comeback possible.
