The central Massachusetts high school student born as a girl now identifies as a boy, but joined a Boy Scouts troop two years before the Boy Scouts started letting in transgender persons. Then the student left the Boy Scouts, finding it "did not focus as much on teamwork for the community" as another organization the student had previously belonged to — the Girl Scouts.
