Town Official Refuses To Stand for Pledge of Allegiance To Stick It To Trump

The member of the planning board of Damariscotta, Maine refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of a recent board meeting. She later explained in an email message:  "Nothing done under Trump administration honors and enacts 'give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free' (from 'The New Colossus,' a sonnet written to raise funds for the Statue of Liberty), 'liberty and justice for all' (from the Pledge of Allegiance), 'land of the free' (from the national anthem)."

Judge’s Daughter Pleads Guilty To Drunken Driving

Alli Bibaud, at the center of a scandal concerning the scrubbing of a Massachusetts State Police report in connection with her arrest at a crash scene in Worcester in October, pleaded guilty to operating under the influence in Framingham District Court on Friday. She was sentenced to 14 months probation and drug rehabilitation, and she lost her driver's license for one year.
