Tom Carroll Leaving Job As Superintendent of Archdiocese of Boston Schools

Superintendent of the Archdiocese of Boston schools Thomas Carroll plans to leave at the end of the 2023-2024 school year. He has held the position since 2019, including during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Carroll had a high profile in the archdiocese and nationally. One example:  He appeared at a roundtable discussion in Washington D.C. in December 2021 to talk about how the Biden coronavirus stimulus bill of the time hurt Catholic schools.

Two Worcester Officials Say Two Proposed Pregnancy Center Ordinances Likely Unconstitutional

Worcester city manager Eric Batista sent two draft ordinances targeting pro-life crisis pregnancy to the city council yesterday while calling both unconstitutional.

"We do not believe that the requested ordinances will effectively enhance protections for pregnant people or those seeking medical resources, which should be their ultimate goal," Batista said in a letter dated Tuesday, August 22.
