Threatening King of Sweden Not Good Career Move for Maine Man

A Maine man who federal authorities say made hundreds of threatening calls to Sweden's embassy to the United States in Washington D.C., during which he threatened to knife the king of Sweden, has been sentenced to two years three months in federal prison.

Eric Malmstrom, 40, of Vinalhaven, Maine, was sentenced Tuesday, February 26, according to the U.S. Attorney's office in Portland, Maine.

Fall River Catholics hoping to save one of the prettiest churches in New England are in talks with the local bishop to try to take over St. Anne's Shrine.

The spectacular double-spired granite church – "Visitors to the church are often stunned by its grandeur," says the Fall River Herald News – closed permanently on November 25, 2018 because it needs $13.5 million in repairs that the Diocese of Fall River doesn't have and priests the diocese can't spare.
