When she was first lady Barbara Bush once brought replicas of the duckling statues during a Cold War visit to Moscow.

The famous statues on Boston Public Garden commemorate a famous children's book, Robert McCluskey's Make Way for Ducklings, published in 1941.

Barbara Bush, the wife of former President George H.W. Bush, died Tuesday. She was 92.

Mrs. Bush, whose son George W. Bush served as president during the 2000s, is one of two women in American history to be wife of one president and mother of another. (The other is Abigail Adams.)
