The liberal-leaning GOP U.S. senator from Bangor, Maine is so far supporting the Republican Party's tax reform bill. Some Maine protesters are very upset about that.
Researchers sprayed water onto trees in New Hampshire when the air temperature was below freezing to re-create the effects of an ice storm, in order to study the effects ice has on vegetation. They're expecting more ice storms because of climate change; turns out there are some bad effects (such as falling limbs) and some good ones (such as clearing out certain sprouts so existing trees have more room to grow).
