Springfield Bans Door-To-Door Trick-Or-Treating This Year

Halloween may look different in Springfield, Massachusetts this year due to the coronavirus emergency.

City officials, including Mayor Domenic Sarno and Helen Caulton-Harris, the city's health and human services director, decided that door-to-door trick-or-treating will not be allowed this year.

Franklin Town Clerk Resigns After Mail-In-Vote-Counting Problems In September 1 Primary

The town clerk in Franklin, Massachusetts has announced her resignation after problems arose when counting votes in the state's September 1 primary election.

Teresa Burr's resignation will take effect on Friday, September 18. It comes after Franklin had about 3,000 uncounted votes two days after the election ended — even though Burr initially told Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth Bill Galvin's office there were only about 600 left. The undercount involved mail-in votes.
