Speed Limit Reduced To 40 Miles Per Hour on Parts of Mass. Pike During Storm

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation on Thursday morning reduced the speed limit to 40 miles per hour on parts of the Massachusetts Turnpike during the major snowstorm under way in central and western Massachusetts. State transportation officials may extend the speed limit reduction to the whole Pike as the storm moves eastward on Thursday.

The 31-year-old daughter of the chief of police in Berlin, New Hampshire was arrested by state police in northern New Hampshire just before Christmas on a Class A felony. "We think how lucky we are that the call was an arrest and not a death notification like hundreds of other families have had to deal with," he said.
