Soros-Backed Group Mobilizes “#ProtectMueller” Protests; Immediate Turnout In All New England States

In the immediate wake of US Attorney General Jeff Sessions' resignation Wednesday (Nov.7) and President Donald Trump's appointing of Matthew G. Whitaker as acting attorney general, progressives at MoveOn, fearing Whitaker's appointment might undermine a special counsel's investigation of the president, called for national protests that were organized within hours.

In New England, protests were held Thursday evening — about 24 hours after Sessions' resignation — in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Other protests were held throughout the United States.

According to various news outlets, including the online journal he co-founded, The Daily Caller, Fox News' Tucker Carlson's Washington, DC home was targeted Wednesday night by so-called "anti-fascist" activists. Fox News reports that the conservative pundit was not home at the time (he was at Fox' studios) but his wife was. (His four children were not, according to Fox News.)

Police were called to Carlson's home but no arrests have been made.
