It's official: state Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz (D-Jamaica Plain) is running for governor of Massachusetts.
Diaz is the third Democrat to announce a run for what is currently Governor Charlie Baker's corner office in the Massachusetts State House. The others are Harvard political scientist Danielle Allen and former state Senator Benjamin Downing (D-Pittsfield).
Recreational marijuana will soon be legal in Connecticut.
The state's Democratic governor, Ned Lamont, signed a bill on Tuesday, June 22 to make his state the 19th in the country to legalize recreational use of marijuana. Starting on July 1, 2021, Connecticut residents will be legally allowed to consume and possess marijuana, according to NPR.
