A student wore a Confederate flag to school during a homecoming-themed America Day event last week at Monument Mountain Regional High School in the western Massachusetts town of Great Barrington, leading to a media brouhaha after photos of the student were posted on social media.

But a member of the school committee that oversees the school thinks the real problem is news media publishing social media photos of students in school, according to the Berkshire Eagle.

A nonprofit organization in Portland, Maine wants to house homeless people in cruise ships off the coast.

A used cruise ship might cost about $5 million to purchase and can last 100 years while providing shelter for 800 people in 400 cabins, according to Memory Works, a nonprofit organization that is applying for a $250,000 grant to study the idea, according to the Bangor Daily News.
