Homeschooling Parents, Kids Turn Out in Force Against Bill That Would Regulate Them

The bill before the New Hampshire House of Representatives would require closer oversight of homeschooling programs and performance, with the threat of shutting down a homeschool if students don't perform well enough on standardized tests. Supporters say they suspect some homeschooling parents aren't teaching their kids, but opponents say homeschooled kids are on average doing much better than their peers in the public schools, and they note that public schools aren't in danger of being shut down if students don't perform well.
