As U.S. troops have mostly withdrawn from Afghanistan under the direction of President Joe Biden's administration, the Taliban made immense gains in the country in the span of a few days. On Sunday, August 15, the Taliban captured Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. Afghan president Ashraf Ghani fled the country, and reports say that the Taliban is preparing to rule the country once again, as it did from 1996 to 2001.
Larry David, best known as the creator of Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm, got an invitation to former president Barack Obama's 60th birthday party on Martha's Vineyard which took place earlier this month.
Then he got uninvited when the guest list shrank due to the coronavirus pandemic. David was reportedly thrilled.
