Scott Brown Investigated for Telling Samoans They Look Beautiful

Scott Brown, the former U.S. senator from Massachusetts and current U.S. ambassador to New Zealand and Samoa, said the U.S. Department of State formally investigated him after fielding complaints about comments Brown made during a party in Apia, the capital of Samoa. Brown says he told attendees at the party that they looked "beautiful" and that wait staff could make hundreds of dollars in the hospitality industry in the United States; a couple of women serving in the Peace Corps complained.
