Schilling fired by ESPN over post about ‘bathroom bills’

BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — ESPN fired Curt Schilling, a baseball analyst and former Boston Red Sox star pitcher, following his comments on Facebook about legislation to assure access to bathrooms and other facilities for transgender people.
In a statement Wednesday, ESPN said "Curt Schilling has been advised that his conduct was unacceptable." The Walt Disney-owned cable-television network added that "ESPN is an inclusive company."
