Bill Gates somehow managed to get the U.S. Department of Education not only to buy into Common Core but also foist it on local school districts all over the land — in less than five years.
Joyce Pullman's book The Education Invasion: How Common Core Fights Parents for Control of American Kids "describes how the Gates Foundation promoted and continues to promote one extremely wealthy couple's uninformed, unsupported, and unsupportable ideas on education for other people's children, even while their own children are enrolled in a non–Common Cored private school," writes Sandra Stotsky, a columnist for New Boston Post, in an article about the book in The Independent Review.
Arrests of illegal immigrants skyrocketed during President Donald Trump's first year in office, according to new data from federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In 2017, "Our brave [Immigration and Customs Enforcement] officers arrested more than 100,000 criminal aliens who have committed tens of thousands of crimes," Trump announced at the Conservative Political Action Conference Friday. The official numbers dropped the same day, revealing a marked increase over the final year of former President Barack Obama's administration.
