A lot of items won't have sales tax on them in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts this upcoming weekend.
The sales tax holiday gives consumers an opportunity to save 6.25 percent on Saturday, August 14 and Sunday, August 15 on many items that ordinarily come with a sales tax. The discount also includes items purchased online.
The U.S. Census Bureau released data from its 2020 Census on Thursday — and it shows a substantial decline in the percentage of people who identify as non-Hispanic white in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
As of 2010, "white" described 76.1 percent of the state's residents. Fast forward to 2020 and it was down to 67.6 percent of the population, as CBS Boston reports.
