Rhode Island now tops the list with 110.3 new daily cases per 100,000 people, as Newport Buzz reports. It is the only New England state to rank in the top-10 in that category at this time. There had been at least 1,413 coronavirus deaths and 62,137 cases in the Ocean State as of the afternoon of Sunday, December 6, the report said.
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker is popular in the state, according to a recent approval rating poll released by MassInc. However, that approval rating varies depending on party affiliation.
Baker had a 68 percent approval rating overall with 23 percent disapproving of him. That approval rating was highest among Democrats and Democratic-leaners; 81 percent of them had a favorable opinion of him while 13 percent did not.
