Rhode Island Senate Approves Plastic Bag Ban

Thin-film plastic bags common in grocery stores and drug stores are on the chopping block in Rhode Island.
The Rhode Island Senate unanimously approved a ban on thin-film plastic bags earlier this week. Under the proposal, stores would have to offer recyclable bags instead of so-called single-use plastics. (The measure is Rhode Island Senate Bill 2020 S. 2003 Substitute A.)
