Red Sox Sign Attleboro Native UMass Dartmouth Grad Nate Tellier

The Boston Red Sox recently signed a local player as an undrafted free agent. The team signed Attleboro native and UMass Dartmouth alum Nate Tellier to a three-year minor league contract, as Dartmouth Week reports.

Tellier stood out in the New England Collegiate Baseball League last summer when he pitched for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks. Although a Division 3 player in college, he faced mostly Division 1 competition in the league. He struck out 35 batters in 17.2 innings and posted a 3.57 ERA in 16 relief appearances. Tellier did not have a full baseball season at UMass Dartmouth this past spring due to the coronavirus outbreak.
