Maine Resistance, headquartered in Lewiston, is leading a petition drive to remove sexual orientation from among the specially protected classes in Maine's Human Rights Act. Two traditionalist Catholic groups from New Hampshire also made the Southern Poverty Law Center's "Hate Map."

Quincy City Council To Discuss Sanctuary City Status

A city councilor plans to introduce a resolution about exploring sanctuary city status at the next Quincy City Council meeting Tuesday, February 21. Such a policy usually limits local police cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
