The illegal immigrant, who police say stabbed to death his girlfriend in Bridgeport, Connecticut last week, returned to the United States after previously being deported. Connecticut police would certainly cooperate with federal immigration authorities in such a case, said Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy, a Democrat, who last week sent state and local police a memo telling them not to key in on illegal immigrants.

An existing bar in Burlington, Vermont is closing and will be re-branded as Mister Sister, catering to people attracted to members of the same sex. Two board members of the Pride Center of Vermont resigned because the group wouldn't condemn the name, with one writing:  "We can not create global change without taking a stand for the most marginalized demographic of the LGBTQAI community at the local level."
